What Folks Are Saying
"Hello All - Thank you so much for the box of goodies you sent during the holidays. You gave us a little piece of home and helped make the holidays a little brighter.
Thank you!
Melissa"

"James got your box and sends many thanks to you. The guys in his room thank you, too. His mailing address has been closed because they are moving him around now. I pray that he comes home next month, as planned. I want to get to your shop and say HI and buy a t-shirt soon.
- Thanks alot, Jackie"

"Hey Merissa,
Anything you send will be well appreciated. I enjoy wrestling and anything you send to remind me of back home will be great. It's good to know that we have wonderful people such as yourself who don't even know us to show an interest in making a soldier's day a little better. Thank you, your husband, and your company for all the hardwork, and dedication to the military personnel.
-Adrian K. Gray"

"My name is Jackie and my son is in Iraq for the second time. I just learned of your support and generosity today from a friend. My son is fortunate that he has a lot of friends and family sending him care boxes and mail but according to my son, not everyone on his base is that fortunate. He receives cards and letters from friends & family and complete strangers and seems to look forward to those as much as the boxes of goodies. On behalf of James and all of our military personal, thanks from the bottom of my heart."

Here are suggestions from a soldier in Fort Tal Afar, Iraq:
"We don't have an American chow hall and the food that we have has very little nutrition. Some of the ideas that my team has is canned or jarred fruits, vegetables, and magazines. The $5 hand held games from WalMart go a long way. We have spent hours trying to fish on one of those games. One of my favorites has been Campbell's Chunky Chili. Those are just some suggestions. Soldiers also like anything sentimental of the states. It has been a long year and we are more than ready to come back to Roanoke and southwest Virginia.

We really appreciate everything that you are doing. From my experience we have had plenty of toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and wet wipes."

Some other suggestions that will go a long way are beef jerkey, hours of local television recorded onto DVD's, coffee, and American sodas.
